The Destinations of Lake Tahoe Tahoe! One lake, one basin, contained in one surrounding range of High Sierra Mountains, yet home to such diverse places and activities that we at Sierra Event Company call them "The Destinations of Lake Tahoe." Sierra Event Company is expert at creating extraordinary events for corporate incentives, meetings, rollouts and retreats at any of Tahoe's destinations. From the large casino hotels and showrooms of South Shore, to the intimate North Shore setting of Incline Village, to the High Sierra grandeur of the Winter Olympic's Squaw Valley, Sierra Event Company will create an event to live in corporate annals. North Shore/Incline Village Standing in a wooded enclave of exclusive homes of the rich and famous, Incline Village provides the perfect setting along Tahoe's North Shore. Both upscale and rustic, Incline's Hyatt Regency Resort eschews the hustle and bustle of South Shore, offering a distinctly tasteful gaming room, the gourmet Lone Eagle restaurant and bar overlooking the exquisite beach and shoreline. There is a host of outdoor activities for all seasons - including two 18-hole championship courses for summer and fall and nearby Mt. Rose and Diamond Peak for skiing through winter and spring. On property activities include a variety of water and beach toys plus the resort's own catamaran, the"Sierra Cloud." There is an abundance of land and water activities for all seasons: sailing, fishing, biking, hiking, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing among many others. Several excellent restaurants are located nearby, perfect for dine-arounds. The exclusive Thunderbird Lodge is also available, a private Lakeside mansion representing those days of opulence when the monied classes vied with each other to build the biggest and grandest homes of all. It can be used as a private dinner and awards venue. Transfer time from the Reno Airport to Incline Village hotels is approximately 45 minutes. North Shore/Squaw Valley Squaw Valley was the site of the 1964 Winter Olympics and has lost none of its magic since. The Olympic Village stands nestled in the upper meadow at the base of the peaks and has been expanded to accommodate large corporate clients in a self-contained, pedestrian-only environment. Numerous shops and restaurants occupy the ground floors of the chateau-like buildings, while the upper floors are dedicated to spacious condominiums available for group rental at The Village at Squaw Valley and upscale hotels rooms at the nearby Plumpjack Resort. At the opposite end of the meadow, just a mile away, is the exclusive, newly renovated, Resort at Squaw Creek with its own golf course, ski lift, ice skating rink, spa, gourmet dining and upscale shopping. Outdoor activities include ice-skating, snow tubing, swimming, hiking, skiing, mountain biking and other activities for all seasons. Sailing, fishing, river floats and white water rafting are all close by. Overlooking the valley from the 8,000-foot level is High Camp, reached by large, aerial cable cars from the valley floor. It is a favorite venue for outdoor activists and corporate clients alike, offering a dinner or activity site with a stunning view overlooking Squaw Valley, Lake Tahoe, the High . Sierras and the desert to the east. Numerous dine around restaurants can be found both in Squaw Valley itself and in nearby Truckee and Tahoe City. Transfer time from the Reno Airport to Squaw Valley hotels is approximately 1 hour. Truckee/Northstar The Village at Northstar promises to become Tahoe's newest luxury location as they begin ground breaking in 2007 on the 5-star Ritz Carlton Highlands, Lake Tahoe. The 173-room ski-in, ski-out resort and spa is scheduled to open in late 2009, bringing a new level of luxury to the Tahoe area. The Village is expanding accordingly and renovations are keeping apace to make this a premier destination. A splendid, pedestrian-friendly alpine village is at the center of Northstar, replete with shops, boutiques, ice skating rink, restaurants and bars, with a self-contained transportation system connecting the village to nearby and outlying luxury condos and chalets. Skiing, golf, horse stables and swimming pool are at the very heart of the resort, with numerous other activities also located there or nearby: snowmobiling, dog-sledding, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, horseback riding, horse sleighs are but a few of the many activities available at Northstar. Old Greenwood and Coyote Moon golf courses are within 15 minutes of Northstar, while ski areas such as Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, and Boreal are not much further. Truly, Northstar has become a destination for all seasons. Numerous upscale dine around restaurants will be found in nearby Kings Beach, Squaw Valley, Tahoe City and Truckee. Located only 15 minutes away from Northstar, Truckee's 19th century brick buildings along Commercial Row are refurbished and provide a wonderful, historic diversion of gallery shops, boutiques, restaurants and bars. Sierra Event Company offers an exclusive on-foot rally that leads guests throughout the historic quarter in search of answers to rhymed puzzles, including on-site clues and questions of the ill-fated Donner Party. Coupled with lunch or dinner in one of the historic restaurants, Truckee stands as an enticing counterpoint to any resort program. Transfer time from the Reno Airport to Northstar is approximately 1 hour.
Other Special Sierra Event Company Locations.... The Sierra Event Company is proud to provide the same "higher ground" quality of event management at several other Northern California/Nevada locations:
Nestled beneath the towering granite cliffs of a glacier-scoured valley, the Merced River flows gently through miles of alpine meadows, stands of mixed fir and pine, and groves of the world's largest living thing: the giant Sequoia. It is a scene painted and photographed for over a century in forlorn attempts to capture the natural grandeur and totality of this landscape. Let our Sierra Event experts create a perfect amalgam of events and activities for select corporate clients and attendees that will become the basis of corporate legend.... The rustic and elegant Ahwanee Lodge, or the Yosemite Lodge can all accommodate smaller, select corporate groups, each providing meeting infrastructure and a base from which to experience Yosemite. Whether through relaxing, back-to-nature strolls through the Tolumne Meadows or intense team-building rock climbs along the valley's granite walls, this brush with one of nature's Grand Designs will stay with them forever. Outdoor activities take advantage of Nature at her incomparable best: cross country skiing, snowshoeing, guided hikes, photo hikes, rock climbing, fishing, and cycling. Each of these allows guests to experience Yosemite up close, providing an intimate and memorable experience of one of the most beautiful valleys on earth.
Mammoth is designed for the corporate group that wants maximum outdoor activities available and minimal distraction from the corporate message. The result is a mountain venue that offers the widest range of outdoor activities of any mountain resort in America and the isolation that allows corporate groups to stay focused and on task. Let Sierra Event Company create a completely personalized corporate event that will provide attendees with both mental and physical challenges that require teamwork for success. From indoor corporate motivators providing mind-boggling stratagems for teams to outwit and resolve to actual outdoor events requiring team-building thought and action to succeed, Mammoth has it all! From mountain and rock climbing to golf and tennis, from biking and hiking to white water rafting and fishing, Mammoth has the activities and the equipment for year-around team building. Groups of 100 or less are suggested for Mammoth, although using multiple hotels can accommodate larger groups.
Sassy and sophisticated. Vegas without the kitsch and traffic! As the self described Biggest Little City in the World, the not-too-wild West of Reno re-invented itself during the 90's and became - according to Forbes magazine - one of the top 25 best business cities in the U.S., not to mention its convention facilities, tourism, and recreation possibilities. Reno beckons the golfer, the gamer, the outdoors folks, athletes and sports enthusiasts, those who love the great outdoors right next to the amenities of the city. And Reno certainly appeals to the Meeting Planner, offering modern convention facilities, major hotels, first-class entertainment, a rejuvenated downtown and prices that will bring you back again and again. It is Reno's Renaissance, marking its entry into the major league of world-class meeting and convention cities. Groups up to 5000 or more can be accommodated in the cities many large casino hotels. Major Reno hotels are within 15 minutes of Reno airport.
Few events in the history of the American West have captured popular imagination more the Gold Rush of 1849. In that single decade before the Civil War hundreds, thousands, then tens of thousands migrated to California, lured by the prospects of infinite riches and adventure in the gold fields. It was the largest gold rush in history: towns were built, villages settled, and camps established throughout the gentle foothills of the high Sierra. Today, this historic region still captivates, attracting those seeking a nostalgic glimpse of the extraordinary times and events of that era. Picturesque Motherlode towns such as Angel's Camp, Sonora, Columbia, Coloma and others preserve the past through architecture, historical displays, and period activities while providing for the needs of the modern visitor: quaint hotels and lodges, fine restaurants, award winning wineries, antique shops, art galleries, and an array of outdoor activities. It is a countryside once described as "a place both rugged and romantic, more appealing than fiction, more compelling than art..." truly one of California's best-kept-secret destinations. Gold Country is recommended for retreats, meetings, or incentives for small groups of 50 or less. Gold Country is a 200 mile crescent swath that follows the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada from approximately 50 miles north of Lake Tahoe to its southern reach at the gates of Yosemite. Sacramento is the nearest major airport (less than an hour from the nearest gold rush towns. Reno is about one and a half hours from the nearest gold rush towns.)
